Maja Berry

Maja has been working exclusively in eating disorders since 2015. She started her journey at the Priory, Roehampton, working on the inpatient adolescent ward, before building her own practice in 2020. She has 3 children, the oldest diagnosed with autism, the second with ADHD so personally understands the complexities of raising children who don’t always fit the “norm.”

Book a 1:1 with Maja to help your child and your family get back on track. Maja works with children and adolescents diagnosed with ARFID and provides you with practical support and guidance to help your child recover from their eating disorder. Maja can also support your child to slowly introduce new foods and broaden their nutritional range.

Maja Berry is experienced, compassionate, sensible and extremely helpful.  As she mentions on her website she is also a parent and in my view this added to her ability to balance practical issues with her extensive professional knowledge.  She is able to provide expert advice at short notice, follow-up is brilliant, she can work ‘online’ and she goes over and above that which one might expect. Book quickly as I imagine she will be in high demand if she is not already! I can say with 100 percent certainty that I would recommend her to my ‘Friends and Family’ and in fact have done so.  Highly, highly recommended.

Maja was absolutely amazing. She has followed me for 8 months or so and made a huge difference in my relationship with food. Other than helping me to reach my goal of weight gain, her method ensured the development of a healthy lifestyle. What I loved the most was in fact the way she creates the meal plan. It’s not based on a rigid mindset, but rather she offers guidance on how to construct a balanced meal and which quantities are most appropriate. She has always been extremely supportive and understanding, taking it slowly and pushing me to take a step further when I felt ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately not. I am very much a dietitian, but understand how complex eating disorders are. I am always very happy to provide you with a suggested team, such as a psychologist, psychiatrist or family therapist all specialising in eating disorders.

I am very happy to work alongside CAHMS, although they tend to be more reluctant. Many CAHMS teams don’t provide dietetic support, so I absolutely understand the need to additionally see a dietitian.

Yes. I have a clinic in Richmond and would be very happy to see you in person, although I also offer sessions via zoom.

In person appointments are on Mondays and Wednesdays. I offer zoom appointments on those days as well as Tuesdays and Fridays.

I absolutely believe that there are phases to recovery in adolescence. The first phase is when the parents need to be in charge as it is too difficult for the adolescent to take ownership. The second phase allows more independence, but with guidance from the parents and the third phase is to be fully independent again.

I disagree with the idea that a centre should only provide one point of contact for the duration of your treatment. In my experience, we all have specific training in certain areas and can therefore only provide you with the best service if we work within our knowledge and training.

We ask that everyone give us 48hrs notice of cancellation or the full fee will be charged. We also ask that the first invoice is settled up front, before the initial consultation takes place. This is due to previous experiences of people not turning up to their appointments. If there is an emergency, we will do our best to accommodate it.
